Ex-MEGADETH Guitarist GLEN DROVER: New Jam Footage, Video Interview Posted Online
February 23, 2013Canadian guitarist Glen Drover (MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, TESTAMENT, EIDOLON) has returned from Colorado when he filmed his first instructional video for JamPlay. He says: "[It] was a great experience. Had a blast!"
A mini-jam segment and interview that Drover did with JamPlay on location while shooting the video can be seen below.
When asked if his desire to spend time more time with his family was the reason he left MEGADETH in 2007, Drover told the "Metal Attack MTL" radio show, "No, not necessarily. I mean, it was part of that, but there was a lot of turmoil going on in the band while I was there, and it wasn't as much fun. See, the first couple of years in MEGADETH, it was a lot of fun — it was a very healthy atmosphere — but towards the end it wasn't, and I think that kind of magnified the fact that I didn't wanna be a part of that kind of destructive kind of atmosphere, and I wanted to be at home with my family and then stage the next plan of attack for the next project, whatever that may be."
Drover was replaced in MEGADETH by Chris Broderick, who has previously played with NEVERMORE and JAG PANZER.
Glen's debut solo album, "Metalusion", was released in April 2011 via Magna Carta Records.
On September 25, 2011, Drover took part in a historic performance that was webcast worldwide as part of the "Live At Metalworks" series from Mississauga, Canada.
Glen's "Live At Metalworks" performance was released as a DVD via Magna Carta.
